The Spring Lake
The first lake you see when you drive onto the fishery, approximately 1.5 acres, it is stocked with small carp , quality roach, rudd, tench, perch, brown goldfish and gudgeon. It is particularly suited to pole and waggler fishing, and is ideal for families with young children who are new to the sport. Twenty comfortable pegs surround this lake, and their is good parking close by.
The Match Lake
The largest lake on the complex covering 3 to 4 acres with 37 permanent pegs. Popular with matchmen and carp anglers alike, with the carp averaging 4 to 6lbs, but there are now an increasing number of double figure fish with a couple of known twenties. Match weights average 30lb plus, but on a good day 60lb is possible. This lake is not only known for its carp, roach catches quite often exceed 20lbs with some fish topping the pound. Recently stocked with skimmers, they are now showing to 1.5lbs, and large perch to 4.5lbs appear from time to time. Other fish to be caught are tench, rudd and gudgeon.
The Tench lake
As the name suggests tench are the main target,in this one of the smaller lakes on the site, but is due to be enlarged and deepened this Autumn. Roach, rudd, perch, gudgeon and a few carp are also present. Popular with families who enjoy light float fishing and seclusion as this lake is nicely tucked away in a corner of the complex.
The Middle Match Lake
Newly dug this year, this small doughnut shaped match lake has just been stocked and will be open for fishing late Autumn.
The Specimen Lake
Drive further down into the wood and you come to the Specimen Lake, the oldest of the six lakes, with a reputation for quality carp, manly of which top 20lbs. The record stands at 29lb, and it is hoped that this will soon be beaten with our first thirty. Matches are often held on this lake in the Autumn and Winter as large catches of quality roach are commonplace. Large perch also show with fish to 4lb and tench and rudd are also present. With twenty secluded pegs surrounded by trees and bushes this is a specimen hunters paradise.
The Orchard Lake
The only lake that you have to walk to, however it can be reached in less than two minutes. Like the Specimen lake it is surrounded by trees and bushes and is probably the lake you would choose if you prefer seclusion. The carp run from 6lb to upper doubles with one known twenty present. This lake is the on were you can expect the largest tench as they run to 5lb+. Also expect large roach, good perch, rudd and gudgeon.
